Job Title: Sales Executive

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: £27,000pa + Uncapped Commission (Minimum £40k OTE)

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. 9am – 5pm (30 minutes break). 20 days + 8 Bank Holiday + (1 day extra for every year – up to 5 years).

PDC is a family run company with over 150 years combined experience in the Plumbing Industry.

The right candidate will compliment the companies ambitions and help to build their customer base to assist its growth strategy. You will be expected to achieve new clients through various sales techniques and take the business from start to finish, from cold/warm calling, developing the relationship and eventually closing the sale.

To consult with the Sales Manager to build and maintain working relationships, develop prospective client lists and deliver targeted campaigns to achieve new business.

Within this role, they will also be expected to service the current customer base and nurture/upsell to our existing clients. PDC has ambitious plans for growth over the next 3 years, if the right candidate matches their ambition and energy, there are excellent career progression opportunities.

Recruitment;

  • Calling prospective clients directly to introduce PDC as their potential new supplier by communicating products in a confident and accurate fashion
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner, speaking confidently with customers via telesales.
  • Researching new customers to increase existing client base by creating prospect lists through client research, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date to give the best possible opportunity of converting sales
  • Reporting to the Sales Manager to support new customers across the region
  • Supporting with new and existing marketing and social media campaigns for PDC
  • Develop regular communication strategy to clients to ensure that they are well informed of PDC’s products and services
  • Gain an understanding for each client and be able to highlight a good opportunity for our services to help and support their business
  • Onboarding new clients and maintaining good business relationships
  • Challenge customer pricing with convincing negotiation skills and cross-referencing previous prices attained from customers
  • Be on hand to deal with queries or concerns with open sales orders

Support;

  • Contact customers and clients to obtain any missing information and/or queries that may arise
  • Stay up to date with new products and procedures
  • Communicate efficiently, responding to emails and answering the telephone in a timely manner
  • To assist with covering responsibilities of other members of the team in their absence
  • To take pride in appearance as a reflection of PDC
  • To take responsibility for your own health, safety, and wellbeing; and of that of visitors and other employees, ensuring compliance with PDC’s Health & Safety policy, procedures, and safe systems of work
  • To be responsible for own behaviour and acting in a manner that avoids and discourages any form of discrimination and harassment
  • To ensure full compliance with all PDC policies
  • To willingly perform any other duties that are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role and PDC as a company

Required Qualifications:

  • GSCE C or above English and Maths

Required Competencies:

Required;

  • Exceptional communication skills, confident and able to influence
  • Organised, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Understanding of LinkedIn and its sales tools

Desired;

  • Creativity & persuasive skills with the ability to solve problems to a variety of audiences
  • Multilingual would be an advantage
  • GCSE Maths & English
