The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is a Bristol-based national charity that supports people and organisations across the UK to tackle the climate emergency and end the suffering caused by cold homes. We do this by sharing our knowledge, practical experience and policy insights.
The Role
To provide expert retrofit support to local and community organisations that enables them to tackle the climate emergency, reduce our vulnerability to high energy prices and end the misery caused by cold homes.
Responsibilities include
- Championing community engagement and local and community organisations in enabling the decarbonisation of local homes and community buildings.
- To work with members of the CSE Development & Communications team to identify, create and respond to new opportunities for funding. Including synergies with CSE’s Futureproof programme.
- To develop training and resources and provide guidance to local and community organisations that strengthens their ability to design and lead retrofit activities.
- Help test and develop new models and approaches for the provision of retrofit activities to the local community.
- To project manage all aspects of the delivery of a specific set of projects
- To provide line management to colleagues in the LACE team and support opportunities for learning on the topic of retrofit across the wider team.
- To contribute to the design and delivery of promotion and marketing of existing CSE projects to ensure effective engagement with the target audiences.
Ideal Candidate
- O Level/GCSE Maths and English
- Experience of having designed and provided support (e.g. training, mentoring or coaching) to local and community organisations.
- Experience of providing advice and/or retrofit coordination services to clients, to a recognise standard (ideally PAS).
- Experience of leading successful bids and funding applications.
- A strong understanding – and ideas – for how local and community organisations can play key role in accelerating retrofit.
- Good working knowledge of a range of energy efficiency and low carbon technologies for homes/buildings.
- Full, clean driving license
