Job Type:
This is a Full Time position working 40 hours per week on a flexible basis for which you will receive pay of £10.25 per hour, paid breaks, free lunch and hot beverages while working, along with a staff discount, free bread and a birthday cake of your choice on that special day.
Paul Rhodes Bakery is looking to recruit a bright, enthusiastic, dynamic, and passionate individual to join their Retail Shop Team at Greenwich
Paul Rhodes Bakery Greenwich is the face of the Paul Rhodes business and is supplied locally by our wholesale bakery which is 5 minutes away. We are based in the heart of beautiful Greenwich with a loyal customer base who love our quality bread. We offer breads, cakes, and pastries, and prepare some breakfast and lunch offerings on-site, as well as hot drinks. Most of all we serve our customers with our friendly and welcoming staff. Over the last year, we have been building up our pre-packaged retail offering.
The role:
We are looking for an experienced Retail supervisor who will bring a warm smile, charisma, and passion to the shop to put a smile on every customer’s face so that they keep returning for both our products and the customer experience. If you enjoy providing great customer service, have a positive attitude and can support the Manager in making Paul Rhodes Bakery the best bakery in South East London then we would love to hear from you.
The Candidate:
This role is ideal for you if you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys being hands-on and you love giving great customer service and being involved in team leadership and coaching.
We are keen to find someone with an eye for detail to make sure the shop is always well presented, stocked, and meeting all health and safety requirements, and an interest to learn and develop skills in leading a shift, planning, ordering, and budgeting, covering for the management team in the case of staff holidays.
Demonstrating a passion for good food and good coffee would be highly beneficial.
- 1 year experience in similar role required
- Need to be able to use a professional coffee machine at high standards
- Experience in kitchen production, sandwich making is a plus
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Greeting and serving customers
- Preparation of hot drinks, previous coffee making experience is an advantage.
- Ensuring the bakery is always looking at its best and welcoming for customers
- Work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Ensuring service runs smoothly and effectively, especially at peak periods and delivering excellent customer service
- Monitoring and maintaining all health & safety standards
- Financial reporting, handling complaints and customer queries effectively
- Preparation of sandwiches, previous experience is beneficial
- Monitoring stock and ordering
- Wastage and use-by dates
- Cleaning and back of house duties
- Any support assistance required by management and team
