About the role:
Due to maternity leave, we have an exciting and rare opportunity available for a Restaurant Supervisor, who will be responsible for the smooth running of our Pier Eight Restaurant. As a member of the management team you will play a pivotal role in the overall experience of our guests, therefore experience in the industry is essential. You should have excellent leadership skills – to manage, inspire and motivate the team. But above all we want people with big personalities and big smiles! Be accountable for the operation of Pier Eight Restaurant and Bar, food and beverage operations. Ensuring the department achieves consistently high standards of customer service, whilst maintaining operational controls, maximising sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for the customer processing Lowry and Quaytickets booking transactions using the computerised box office systems both on site at The Lowry contact centre and off site at mobile box offices as required.
- Ensure that accurate customer information is actively obtained, recorded and maintained within the database according to the Data Protection Act.
- Carry out telesales campaigns.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer service are consistently delivered in a timely manner.
- Promote and comply with legislation and The Lowry’s policies on equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the treatment of others.
- Identify and undertake training and development as required in order to meet personal and business needs.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post so as to ensure the smooth running of The Lowry.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Good administrative and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and manage projects effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build and maintain relationships across the catering function.
- A knowledge of and interest in the current trends and developments within the Catering Industry.
- An understanding of personal and collective responsibility with regard to Health, Safety, Hygiene and licensing regulations/ procedures.
- Awareness of restaurant booking systems.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge of current licensing legislation.
- Experience of supervising a team of staff in the catering industry.
- Experience of supervising a range of busy catering outlets e.g. cafés, restaurants, pubs.
- Experience of controlling and managing within budgetary parameters.
- Computer literate with the ability to use various packages such as Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to working hour.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- The ability to inspire others whilst being self-motivated.
- An understanding of marketing and business development.
- Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Professional catering management qualification.
- Experience of supervising large teams.
- Awareness of brand importance to an organisation such as The Lowry.
- Experience in stock taking procedures.
