Based: Solihull but travelling to our other sites in Birmingham

Job Role:
We are looking for a full-time Activities Co-ordinator working 35 hours per week to co-ordinate an activity and events plan which is interesting and appealing to all residents to ensure there is a vibrant and active community across the organisation
This is an exciting opportunity to really get to know our residents and provide them with a variety of stimulating activities that not only promote physical but also mental and social wellbeing. You’ll want to go above and beyond to help our residents’ live life to the full while underpinning everything you do with a safe, responsible approach.
Key responsibilities:
- To make sure our activities programme runs smoothly, involving the residents, their families and other team members to make sure each and every activity is a success.
- To carry out risk assessments as part of the planning of the activities programme.
- To encourage/ support residents to lead their own interest groups / activity sessions.
- To work with all interest groups to organise expenditure of individual budgets.
- Communicate upcoming activities to residents and volunteers.
- Attend relevant residents meetings and seasonal activity meetings to drive activities and events forward and communicate what is happening, and take action regarding suggestions or concerns.
- Ensure notice boards are organised, well presented and using corporate branded paperwork detail daily and weekly activities or themes and all forthcoming events.
- Be comfortable within both housing and care services and tailor the types of activities to the location and audience
- Provide support cover for support workers on an adhoc basis to cover annual leave and sickness
General Requirements:
- Caring and enthusiastic
- Some experience of supporting, organising and scheduling programmes of events or activities is desirable
- Great organisation skills, listening skills, good written, non-verbal and verbal communication skills
- The ability to lead and motivate volunteers.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality assurance is desirable
- QCF or equivalent Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is desirable
- Previous experience of working in a care/housing related field.
- Ability to maintain all aspects of confidentiality.
- Ability to use IT packages and support residents with accessing a range of IT options including social media, skype etc’
- Must understand and share the Values of the Organisation.

- Knowledge of dementia and other older persons potential health issues
- Flexible attitude to work – occasional evening or weekend working as needed
- Full driving licence and use of car
- Two Covid-19 vaccinations
- A DBS check will be taken up for the successful candidate
