Job Title: Relationship Officer
Location: Central London
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience
Job type: Full time, Maternity Cover – 6 Months
The Role:
The bank is currently looking for an experienced Relationship officer to join the team on a fixed term basis who will be fully involved in managing and growing the customer base of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building your own portfolio of customers base
- Effective relationship management of customer base
- Effectively interfacing with other departments/members in the bank
It’s a varied role so your duties will cover a number of areas:
Business Development
- Understanding the bank’s business objectives and implementing them in a proactive and timely manner
- Identifying opportunities for new relationships with qualifying individuals and small-medium businesses
- Understand and implement a targeted marketing strategy and plan that specifically addresses the needs of customer segments
- Research and identify key prospects and devise a plan for winning their custom
- Efficient and effective interface with other subsidiaries and Liaison Offices
- Develop broad product knowledge by liaising with product specialists as appropriate
- Active participation in the development and marketing of the bank’s products e.g. mortgages, 2 year fixed deposits etc.
- Working with property consultants and developers to drive mortgage applications
- Preliminary review of account and mortgage packages
- Analysing prospects for product development and cross selling opportunities
- Contribute to the achievement of team budgets and action plans
Relationship Management
- Dealing promptly and efficiently with customer enquiries and requests
- Processing Funds Transfer requests where necessary
- Maintain customer contact on a regular basis, ensuring that new opportunities are identified
- Ensuring that customers’ accounts and mortgages are duly processed and opened
- Ensuring that customers are promptly advised of account details to ensure the accounts are duly funded and responsibly operated
- Prepare preliminary credit reviews/temps e.g. FAM/FSR and supporting documents
- Proactive follow-up on all outstanding transactions/documentation
- Liaising with different departments of the business and building good working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders
Business Compliance and KYC
- Ensure full application of all the governing regulations and internal procedures in dealing with customers. (regular training will be provided)
- Carrying out regular account reviews and remediation as and when due
- Complaint Management: Resolve customer complaints and issues same day, with the various units/departments as far as possible
- Monitor and prepare daily reports on PEPs, past due loans, and unauthorised overdrafts
- Monitoring of account transactions for large and unusual items
- Attending to customer enquiries on account opening and transactions after observing proper customer identification procedures where necessary
- Understanding the dynamics of the MPR process
- Ensure proper filing in the system for easy retrieval
