The Role:
We are currently looking for a Regional Manager for our Scotland and Northern Ireland area to join our vibrant and committed Migrant Help team, on a permanent contract.
The post-holder will oversee the operation of the regional service by managing a team of senior client advisers and client advisers. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation across multiple sites including both face to face and phone-based client engagement to ensure efficient delivery of service to our clients, effective management of resource on a daily basis to meet challenging forecasts and ensure that the quality of service is met. You will maintain and develop excellent working relationships with internal and external partners to ensure referral procedures are in place to improve the access to mainstream and specialist services for refugees and asylum seekers. The successful candidate will champion continuous development within the role and for the entire team and service.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage teams’ resources and provide support to other service teams
- Work closely with the Head of Regional Services and Relationships, to support their strategic objectives and deputise in their place when needed
- Work with the AASC provider staff including subcontractors and the local NGO / VCS networks on site to ensure there is a full and varied program of Activities for clients.
- Responsible for people related functions, such as recruitment, inductions, employee development, appraisal and supervision, absence monitoring, disciplinary and conflict resolution.
- Facilitate team meetings including daily briefings to ensure that team members are up to date on matters that effect the delivery of service, such as policy and legislation changes.
- Provide continuous insight to line manager on any changes in trends and the impact on client service delivery.
- Carry out required quality control audits in adherence to relevant legislation and quality standards, such as OISC, Advice Quality Standard, GDPR, ISO9001.
- With agreement with Line Manager, include apprenticeships, work placements and volunteers within the team for additional support services to clients.
- Address any complaints regarding the service and manage incidents in accordance with Migrant Help policies and operating procedures
- Responsible for regional budget management and forecast across London & South East and ensuring accurate records are kept
- Represent the organisation at local Strategic Migration Partnership meetings and stakeholders meeting.
- Regular visits to each site throughout the month to ensure presence of management (or as agreed with your line manager)
- Attend team briefings at each site once a week (or as agreed with your line manager)
- Responsible for Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data Security and Quality within the Regions
Experience and skills:
- A demonstrable ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, including well developed report writing and presentation skills
- Excellent administrative and organisation skills, with great attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a timely fashion dealing with challenging and changing needs, reprioritising, and delegating work as necessary.
- An understanding and observance of impartiality and confidentiality
