The role:
Express Solicitors are currently looking for an experienced Receptionist to work on a busy office switchboard. The role is to provide office and reception support in a busy legal environment during office hours.
The Receptionist primary function is to answer calls and deal with any client enquires. However, the Receptionist should also be willing to assist with any ad hoc admin tasks whenever possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering telephones in a polite and professional manner.
- Sorting, scanning and franking of mail.
- Administration support, such as typing, filing, faxing, photocopying.
- Manual handling – lifting heavy boxes, moving furniture etc.
- Making refreshments.
- Ensuring meeting rooms are prepared.
- Filling and emptying dishwashers.
- Completing checklists on a daily / weekly basis as instructed.
- Watering plants.
- Errands, such as buying milk for the office.
- Helping to keep the office tidy.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Person specification
Essentials:
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above.
- Reception/Switchboard experience.
- Administrative experience.
- Experience of working in a customer-facing role.
- Experience of dealing with customers on the telephone.
Desirable :
- NVQs or qualifications in business administration.
- Experience of working in a law or legal services firm.

- Our standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:30am Monday-Thursday and 8:30am to 5pm Friday.
