Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical)

Salary: £30,000 – £60,000 (DOE)
Job type: Permanent, Full time (40hrs p/w)
Principal HVAC are a well-established modern, progressive company, providing a professional and efficient Air Conditioning and Ventilation service to our Clients throughout the UK & ROI. We are currently looking for an experienced mechanical quantity surveyor/cost controller. The individual must have excellent numeric and methodical skills and be fully competent in using a computer, including basic skills such as typing, emails, working our in-house access system etc. The role will be based in our Head Office, Dungannon, Co.Tyrone. Standard working hours: 8hrs/day, 40hrs/wk, starting time 8:30am, Flexible working hours
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Processing of project contractual maters, sales and purchase invoices.
- Sourcing labour and pricing potential subcontractors.
- Formulating findings into weekly/monthly costing reports, along with detailed project costing reports.
- Getting best prices in for all required, plant, pipework, ductwork and materials.
- Doing a comprehensive handover of a job to the project manager with returned costs/prices for all job, plant, materials etc…
- Ensure that the materials, plant, labour invoices all match up with the quantities that were priced, ordered and delivered.
- Keep communicating project costs and progress with project managers weekly.
- At project completion have a meeting with project manager, sales, design and senior management.
- Producing project projections for new and existing projects based on its invoicing and buying requirements.
- Identify key KPI’s and trends, within Project costs, producing feedback for senior management.
- Confirming the processing of Project payment claims, are within project payment parameters.
- Identifying areas to increase company profitability, while providing a cost-effective service to our customers.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
- A methodical accurate approach to data/cost analysis, within the construction industry.
- Experience with financial costings and projections.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, and Sage 50 accounts.
- Good communication skills, English speaking, and is numbers orientated.
- Honest with good work ethic.
