Job Title: Quality Engineer

WSM Plastics has over 25 years’ experience in mould tool making and injection moulding and specialise in technical polymers for replacement metal components using such materials as V0 rated flame and toxicity material enabling us to supply into industries such as aerospace, medical, marine, renewable energy, transport, and the water industry.
The role:
Working in the Quality Team, the candidate for this hands-on position should excel in an environment that embraces teamwork, change, risk-based decision making and flexibility.
This individual should be willing to make a significant contribution to a multi-disciplined team, must be self-motivated to take action and have excellent written and verbal skills.
This position will also provide technical quality engineering leadership to the business in order to ensure the highest levels of product quality, process and systems integrity to the end customer.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- The provision of engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques
- Conduct investigations into particular quality problems so that root causes are identified and effective corrective and preventive measures are put in place
- Effectively communicate and reinforce business commitment to quality improvement efforts
- Observance of Health and Safety requirements including COSHH
- Seek, introduce and adopt best practice solutions within our Quality Team
- Motivate and train personnel in all aspects of the Quality role & management system
- Co-ordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production and Tool Room to resolve customer complaints and concerns
- Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working in a quality department in a manufacturing environment.
- HNC or higher in Quality or Engineering
- Internal Auditor certified
- Qualification in and/or exposure to Lean Six-Sigma methodologies
- Knowledge of injection moulding and polymers
- Knowledge of ISO9001:2015
