Job Title: Quality Engineer

The role:
To ensure that manufacturing process controls are adequate and robust and that they comply with the QMS. To support NPI processes and to use various quality tools and techniques and statistical techniques to improve products and processes across the site. To resolve component issues with suppliers and ensure corrective action is embedded.
The Candidate:
- HNC or BTEC level 5
- 5 Years British Residency
- Permitted to work in the UK
Knowledge/Experience Required:
- ISO9001:2015, TS16949 or similar experience
- Experience of Supplier Development / SQA
- Experience of dealing with customers
- Experience of internal auditing.
- Knowledge of 5S
- Knowledge of Zero Defects Methodology and NPP process experience
- Knowledge Component Inspection Techniques
- Knowledge of Statistical Analysis / Software experience (Minitab)
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Support Manufacturing in resolving quality issues and their cause
- Work to develop manufacturing Process Controls and documentation
- Be responsible for Greenbelt projects or other Continual Improvement projects as set by the Head of Quality Engineering
- Support the Proof Team and proofing activities where appropriate
- Take responsibility for Quality activities required through the NPP process for NPI projects assigned by the Head of Quality Engineering.
- Support Design FMEAs, facilitate Process FMEAs and generate Process Control Plans.
- Identify and implement preventive control measures to ensure finished product quality
- Carry out or review risk assessments and support the Departmental Safety Review / meetings as and when required.
- Responsible for compliance with all company Health and Safety procedures thus ensuring the health safety and welfare of all persons in their charge and others who may be affected by their activities for which they are responsible, and to demonstrate a commitment to health and safety. To follow the expected behaviors as laid down in the company leadership behaviors policy.
- Take responsibility for the protection of the environment under their control and any areas that may be affected by their activities in accordance with company procedures, and to demonstrate commitment to continual improvement on environmental issues.
- Liaise with suppliers for corrective actions or ongoing development.
- Report quality performance statistics when and where appropriate.
- Support the x-ray process through review of non-conformances and development of inspection standards as required
