Job Title: QC Laboratory Technician
Location: Nantgarw, Cardiff
Salary: £21,250 per annum + substantial benefits
Hours: 09:00 – 17:00 – will need to be flexible to meet business needs

Biocatalysts is a global biotechnology company producing speciality enzymes at commercial scales, offering both off-the-shelf enzyme products and a customised enzyme discovery, development and manufacturing service. From identifying an enzyme that exists as a concept on a database, through to producing large scale commercial quantities of stable enzymes suitable for global shipment.
Due to our accelerated growth and expansion, we have created a new opportunity for a QC Laboratory Technician (enzyme assays) who will be part of our highly motivated Assay team.
About the role:
You will be an integral member of our compliance and project teams – helping to deliver the needs of our customers. Primarily, you will complete enzyme assay data to ensure quality control of our high-quality enzyme products; as well as meeting our customers’ specifications are delivered on time.
About you:
Being analytical with great attention to detail and accuracy is essential. You will have practical experience of working in a lab environment. Having a relevant science degree and/or knowledge of the fundamentals of enzyme assays and protein analysis will be a distinct advantage.
You will need to have achieved at least 200 points at A/AS level (including DD at GCE A2 for two science subjects or equivalent), 5 GCSE’s or equivalent at grade C or above (including Maths, Science and English).
To accommodate our manufacturing processes and meet the needs of our customers, you will have a ‘can do’ attitude, be able to work flexibly and change your normal hours or occasionally, work overtime on a weekend.
