Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Main Purpose of the role:
- To manage and control the day to day activities regarding goods inwards inspection
- Ensure goods inwards checks are conducted to the appropriate level and accuracy
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for goods inwards
- Provide visibility of any issues found at incoming goods to support business continuity and planning
- To provide support for the engineering and production activities of the Quality department for investigation and improvement activities. This includes in-process inspection, data gathering, analysis and reporting
- Publish and monitor agreed KPI’s for incoming goods to ensure visibility throughout the business and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Act as support to the Calibration Technician with regard to calibration Activities
- Ensure procedures and documentation regarding goods inwards are up-to-date and fit-for purpose
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- To read and understand technical drawings to support quality inspections.
- To carry out and keep records for goods inwards inspection (Mechanical).
- Support the resolution of component issues with suppliers and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented successfully.
- To carry out in-process inspection and testing as required to support problem investigation and business improvement projects.
- To review, analyse and present data in support of the above.
- To support manufacturing in resolving quality issues and their cause and to ensure process and procedures are being adhered to.
- To identify areas of concern regarding quality or non-conformances and raise non-conformance documentation. Ensure appropriate disposition and corrective and preventative actions are implemented successfully.
- Understand and support the calibration activity when required.
- Report quality performance statistics relating to goods inwards, as appropriate.
- Take responsibility for the protection of the environment and any areas that may be affected by goods inwards activities in accordance with company procedures. Demonstrate commitment to continual improvement on environmental and sustainability issues.
- Ensure Quality Management System documentation is in place and in use.
- Support quality activities required through the New Product Process (NPP).
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety and be responsible for compliance with Health and Safety procedures. Ensure the health, safety and welfare of all persons in their charge, and others, who may be affected by the activities they are responsible for.
About you:
Qualifications & Certifications Required:
- Level 3 (C&G, NVQ) (Technical Discipline)
- 5 Years British Residency
- Permitted to work in the UK
- Full driving licence
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- ISO9001:2008, TS16949 or similar experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft office packages
