Simtec Materials Testing is a leading provider of asphalt, aggregates, earthworks, and concrete testing services for construction and infrastructure projects. The Role:
The Quality Assurance Controller will be responsible for ensuring that our company’s products and services meet or exceed the established quality standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining our company’s reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control policies and procedures.
- Monitor all aspects of the company’s operations to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
- Conduct regular audits of the company’s processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure that all testing and analysis procedures are performed according to established protocols and procedures.
- Work with the Technical and Training Manager to develop and implement training programs for employees on quality control procedures.
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers regarding quality control issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and customers.
- Generate and maintain accurate records of quality control data and analysis.
- Maintain and update quality system and carryout equipment calibrations.
- Organise external calibrations.
- Understanding of BS EN standards and produce transitions when updated.
- Any other duties within your capabilities.
Key Working Relationships:
The Quality Assurance Controller will report to the Technical and Training Manager and work closely with other members of the technical team, as well as Laboratory Operations, Site Services Team and the Customer Service Team. The Quality Assurance Controller will also work closely with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and customers.
What we are looking for?
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in the construction materials testing industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Knowledge of quality control standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Hold A – C or equivalent in GCSE Maths and Science.
