Job Title: Purchasing Administrator

About the role;
We require a Purchasing Administrator to support our purchasing function with all of our day-to-day buying requirements.
Material spend and volume purchasing on projects within the UK branch is at a high level, and combined with our demanding customer requirements we need an extremely organised individual in this role. The successful incumbent will have an excellent attention to detail, and the ability to save time, costs, and improve the overall quality of what we deliver.
Missions & Responsibilities
- The placing of Purchase Orders via online portals, websites and emails direct to suppliers
- Ensuring through negotiations that the best possible terms and price are achieved with suppliers
- Internal and external purchasing progress monitoring and chasing
- Assisting with new business activities including pricing, quoting & estimating
- Flowing customer, quality, and legislative requirements to suppliers (eg ISO 9001)
- New supplier research, suggestion, down-selection, and on-boarding
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Where possible try to take advantage of international price agreements negotiated by our Parent Company
Key Skills
- 2 to 4 years of purchasing activities (may consider a Buying/Procurement Graduate)
- Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel)
- Extremely IT Literate
- Use of ERP / MRP / Purchasing Database
- Analytical and organised
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Self Starter, highly motivated, able to work under pressure and under minimal supervision
- Negotiation skills
Desirable Skills
- Purchasing of engineering components, in particular electronic and electrical
- Experience of Sage (or similar business systems, ie SAP)
- Working within the Aerospace, Defence, or other High Technology Industries
- Capture, Analysis and Presentation of supplier performance data
- Understanding of Purchasing for Projects within a manufacturing environment
