Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk / Account Assistant
Location: Bare, Morecambe
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 Per Annum (depending on age/experience)
Job Type: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm
We are a family-based company with over 30 years’ experience in Build and Design work keen to recruit a dedicated and dynamic individual with a minimum 5 years’ experience to join our busy office in Bare, Morecambe, Lancs..
Duties will include:
- Assist with monthly management accounts
- Process Credit Card Payments & reconcile
- Processing supplier payments including cis deductions
- Managing incoming emails and post
- Credit check new suppliers/customers
- Input new suppliers/customers
- Process all fleet cars/vans including service mot insurance etc
- Assist with wages time sheets & operative expenses
- Property transaction management & reconciliation for Residential Lettings – Liaise with CEO re payments as necessary including utilities/VAT reconciliation/Bank Account
- Prioritising conflicting deadlines
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications /Skills Required:
- Proven work experience as an Accounts Administrator or similar role
- Hands-on experience with accounting software Sage
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations
- Excellent IT skills – Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets)
- Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors
- Experience in Construction Industry Scheme and reverse charge VAT
- Excellent Communicator and confident telephone manner
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Prepared to take ownership of tasks
- Keen to learn new things and develop skills and competence
- Must be reliable, proactive, and enthusiastic
