We work with families and the brilliant people and services that support them – in hospitals, in children’s hospices and in the community – to ensure that children and families get the support they need.
About the role:
We are looking for a proven policy influencer to take their next step with us as our Public Affairs and Policy Officer. With experience of working in public affairs or policy, you will influence politicians and policymakers to improve quality of life for seriously ill children and their families. You can work flexibly, located at our central-Bristol office or in a hybrid arrangement.
You will gather evidence about the extent to which children and families are receiving the palliative care they need. You will develop policy asks which aim to overcome the barriers that children and families face in accessing high quality, sustainable palliative care. With a sound knowledge of how the UK’s parliaments and governments work, you will be the secretariat to an all-party group. You will map and develop a strategy for engaging with our stakeholders.
About you:
Our ideal candidate is educated to degree level or equivalent and is organised and methodical in their approach. You can analyse and evaluate data and confidently segment and tailor communications to different political audiences. With excellent communication skills, you are able to explain complex policy issues in an accessible way both verbally and in writing.
