Role Summary:
We are seeking a proofreader with an excellent eye for detail and exceptional spelling and grammar skills to join our busy graphic design department. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team of proofreaders and must be able to work to tight deadlines and be confident working both individually and as part of a team. Prior experience is not necessary as full training will be given, however, an excellent command of the English language is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly checking proofs against client-supplied content
- Correcting grammar and spelling, and fact-checking all text in proofs sent to clients
- Ensuring proofs are correctly formatted to clients’ specifications
- Amending and updating databases
You will have:
- Have an excellent command of the English language
- Have exceptional spelling and grammar skills
- Have good general IT skills – applicants must be confident in using Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Outlook and web browsers
- Have good copy-writing skills
- Have the ability to work to deadlines
- Be conscientious, and have a thorough approach to work
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Have excellent communication skills – applicants must be able to engage well with colleagues
- Hold a minimum of a B grade in GCSE English
