The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) is a Bristol-based national charity that supports people and organisations across the UK to tackle the climate emergency and end the suffering caused by cold homes. We do this by sharing our knowledge, practical experience and policy insights.
The Role
We’re seeking a Project Manager to join our Local & Community Empowerment team (LACE). This role will manage and contribute to a range of projects to help the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) to empower communities, local authorities and other local actors to deliver sustainable energy goals.
Responsibilities include
- To project manage a range of projects in the LACE team, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation
- To contribute expertise in local and community empowerment to other CSE projects
- To liaise with and report to project partners and funders on a timely basis
- To maintain effective financial controls of projects
- To lead and coordinate wider project teams as appropriate to achieve successful project delivery
- To oversee the promotion and marketing of projects to ensure effective engagement with the target audience (in conjunction with Communications team)
- To represent CSE at external events and conferences as required
Ideal Candidate
- Experience of managing projects and project teams, including all financial processes, funder liaison, adaptive management, learning, communication, and reporting.
- Experience of working closely with or within a UK local authority or local community focused organisation(s).
- Experience of working as part of a matrix management system, across teams on several different projects at the same time.
- Understanding of opportunities and current approaches to community-led action on energy across the UK (including community energy).
- Understanding of renewable energy, fuel poverty and smart energy system technologies.
- Excellent budget management and donor reporting skills.
