About the Role:
Responsible for “hands on” project management and delivery of contracts to meet or exceed customer quality and delivery requirements.
- Delivery of projects profitably, and in accordance with REL policies and procedures.
- Owns the quality, cost, and delivery performance for assigned project(s). Identify and resolve issues that could pose a potential risk to the project at the earliest possible opportunity.
- Be the focal point for the customer and manage their requirements and expectations.
- Provide customer and companywide communication of the status of individual projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focal point and company representative for the client.
- Drive all aspects of the project daily and provide a clarity on short term objectives.
- Convey /communicate all aspects of change that may occur within the contract to the internal stakeholders.
- Lead on issues and provide a solutions-based approach
- Maintain strict adherence to agreed schedules whilst investigating and implementing actions to counter any adverse variations.
- Monitor and expedite subcontracted work.
- Maintain a project plan and financial overview of all aspects of the project.
- Capture all deviations from the agreed scope of work and/ OR Engineering Change Notices and facilitate costings.
- Manage the submission of concessions/NCR’S and facilitate actions from relevant stakeholders.
- Provide key KPI’s on project performance.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by your Line Manager or a member of the Senior Management team
- Manage a project team in a matrix organisation
- Produce and enact growth and development plans for managed accounts.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience of working within a defence engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Experience of Project Management and Project Planning.
- Excellent commercial awareness and experience of budgetary management.
- Excellent customer focus.
- Strong Leadership skills.
- Formal Project Management qualification (Prince2, PMP)
