Valens Medical Partnership is a leading GP Practice in the Northeast, looking after the healthcare needs of around 52,000 patients across Northumberland.
Understanding our patient needs and being able to plan effectively is key to our future success. In this newly created role you will be responsible for analysing and reporting from a range of data sources to help us better understand our patient population needs as well as identify opportunities for service development.
The ability to pay attention to detail, communicate well and be highly organised are essential skills for this role. You will not only need to understand our data and trends but be able to provide meaningful insight and analysis through clear visual, written and verbal communication.
We are looking for candidates who are degree qualified in a business information, numeric or IT discipline with at least 2 years’ experience of data management or data analytics. You will have excellent IT skills and be confident using reporting and analytical software.
Previous experience within the NHS would be desirable but not essential. It’s important to us that you bring an inquisitive mind, a positive attitude and willingness to work in a fast paced, team environment.
Ideally, you will bring project management skills to the role, as you will also be assigned and be expected to lead on specific data-driven project work.
Your duties will include:
- To collect, collate and manipulate complex qualitative and quantitative data to produce a high standard or reporting, trends and analysis. This will be used to provide meaningful insight to inform decision making and future planning and development of primary care services.
- Monitoring key metrics and performance data which are required for a range of stakeholders (internal and external) and support our approach to population health management.
- To work collaboratively as part of a proactive project team, with managers and other staff, helping them with their data needs and producing timely and accurate data sets.
- Support the planning of key programmes e.g. Covid vaccination by producing segmented patient cohort information and produce regular updates throughout the programme.
- Identify trends and key areas for service improvement projects and support the development of business cases and project proposals for approval.
- Act as an internal data champion, undertake periodic data quality checks and audits and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Attend external meetings with providers and suppliers and participate in relevant taskforces or local working groups.
