techUK’s Tech and Innovation Programme works to ensure techUK continues to be the authoritative voice of current and emerging technologies and innovation. This includes dedicated work programmes on technologies including cloud computing, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Digital ID and emerging and transformative innovations including Blockchain, Edge computing and Quantum.
Role Purpose
This role supports the Director of Technology and Innovation in leading and delivering a successful Cloud Computing programme of work and activities and also supports techUK’s ongoing emerging and transformative technologies campaigns.
The person appointed will need to have, or a propensity to develop quickly, a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the area of Cloud Computing and where members can work collectively to understand and enhance those opportunities. This person will also need to show capability and potential to build on a strong foundation of solid programmes, strong member engagement, and good external reputation and stakeholder relationships. This role will also be required to assist in growing techUK’s membership base.

Key Responsibilities
Organise and run programme, stakeholder and member meetings including joint sessions with other techUK programmes and deliver outputs that meet programme objectives.
Instigate, manage and coordinate the development of programme events and meetings and thought leadership collateral including articles, presentations and reports relevant to the aims and objectives of the work programme.
Promote the programme though insights, opinions, social media and PR activities.
Draft reports, papers, articles and meeting notes as required.
Manage the maintenance of all relevant parts of the techUK website and relevant CRM systems.
Become a trusted point of contact for members, internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
Engage with and support techUK’s policy, public affairs and press activities relating to Cloud Computing and tech and innovation.
Undertake designated account management responsibilities as requested and assist member recruitment activities.
Any other duties that may be required to support the programmes team.
Competencies
Excellent communication and presentation skills including clear and concise oral and written communications.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and demonstrate efficient time management skills when completing multiple tasks within tight timescales.
Highly motivated, organised. Eager to bring innovative and creative ideas to the programme
Strong personal and professional integrity to develop and maintain trusted relationships.
Person Specification
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience of taking a leadership role in event organisation
- Experience of work in a public affairs, policy driven environment
- Interest in current issues and trends in Cloud Computing, Data, Analytics & AI
Desired Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of UK technology sector and UK Government
- Media and press experience
This is a full-time role based at techUK’s London offices and open to flexible working.
The successful candidate must have right to work in the UK prior to commencement of employment.
