Job Title: Programme Manager – Health and Social Care

Location: London

Salary: £32,000-£44,000 per annum based upon experience plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits

Role Purpose:

The Health & Social Care Programme is one of the largest at techUK. With health and care systems around the globe facing increasing pressures, the use of digital technology has never been more important. The Programme works on behalf of a range of exciting technology companies revolutionising health and care, and works closely with NHS bodies, the Department for Health & Social Care, and other key organisations such as NICE and the MHRA. This role acts as a link between the tech sector, policymakers, and customers in health and social care, ultimately delivering maximum value to techUK’s members.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing techUK’s Health and Social Care Programme alongside an existing Programme Manager and reporting to the Programme Head. The position requires the ability to work on a large range of activities, from high profile research projects to supplier engagement events. You can expect to engage with senior officials and tech leaders from across the health and social system.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Programme in the implementation of techUK’s Health and Social Care Programme.
  • Support the Head of Programme in delivering the objectives of the Health and Social Care Council (the body representing industry), including the smooth running of Council meetings, and delivering stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Successfully lead, manage, and deliver the programme of industry events and meetings, including identifying stakeholders, chairing virtual and in-person briefing events, and running roundtables.
  • Manage techUK’s partnerships and relationships with key NHS and social care bodies.
  • Drafting the monthly Programme newsletter to keep members up to date.
  • Managing working groups to provide value for members, such as the techUK Social Care Working Group.
  • Raise the profile of the programme through effective use of social media and developing blogs for publication on the techUK website.
  • Help manage relationships with members to ensure maximum value from techUK membership.
  • Assist the Head of Programme and membership team in the finding and recruiting of new members through research and articulating, explaining and selling the benefits of membership.
  • Produce summaries of key policy documents and support the preparation of public policy submissions to regulatory reviews or government consultations.
  • Work with relevant teams across techUK to ensure we support them in delivering their objectives and seek their input as necessary.

Person Specification:

Core competencies:

  • A self-motivated individual who is comfortable juggling several projects at once.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good at building relationships.
  • Highly effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to a range of audiences.
  • Has a can-do approach and comfortable working in a high pressure, fast paced environment with competing demands.
  • Able to articulate, explain and sell the benefits of techUK to a range of audiences from government to potential new members.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Health and Social Care tech landscape and the positioning and role of techUK.
  • Strong knowledge of public policy and public affairs.
  • Experience of writing reports, briefing notes, and responding to public sector consultations.
  • Has a proven track record and experience of building and managing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ideally able to demonstrate a successful public policy outcome through using public affairs strategy.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time role based out of techUK’s London offices. However, techUK operates a flexible working policy.

This role profile is a guide to the work that is required but does not form part of any contract of employment and may change from time to time to reflect changing circumstances.
