This is an opportunity to play a key role to enable and support the UK’s AI future. The AI Programme Manager will develop and deliver a successful programme of work and activities focused on the application, adoption and use of AI technologies across both the public and private sectors and be a vocal advocate for the opportunities and benefits of AI and the development of the UK AI market.
This Programme Manager will be someone who has their finger on the pulse of the latest development in the AI industry in the UK and has enthusiasm and eagerness to drive forward the application and take up of AI technologies in key sectors and industries. As well as organising activities that look to showcase and demonstrate the opportunities and benefits that the application and adoption of AI can bring to UK organisations this Programme Manager will be responsible for leading techUK’s advocacy on how the barriers to AI adoption, such as data quality, access to compute and the AI skills gap can be addressed. This role is key to ensuring techUK’s work on how we get the UK’s AI future right remains relevant, credible and influential and will work closely with techUK’s market programme teams. This work will support the Head of AI and Digital Identity and build on and continue techUK’s already established work in this area, including techUK’s AI in Action report, AI Leaders Lunchtime Lectures, our annual AI campaign week and the annual Digital Ethics Summit.
As the AI Programme Manager this role is responsible for building close relationships with techUK members, decision makers, civil society, and other key stakeholders and developing new, exciting opportunities through webinars, roundtables, podcasts and other events that continue to position techUK as a leader in the AI industry, community and current debate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the development, implementation and communication of techUK’s work programme and thought leadership on AI
- Work closely with other techUK market programme teams to develop a programme of activities and events focused on adoption of AI across all industries and sectors in the UK
- Manage and drive a successful programme of events, press coverage, internal briefings and external marketing to ensure that members and the rest of techUK is kept fully informed of major policy initiatives and industry developments that relate to AI
- Become an active participant in the UK’s AI community ensuring techUK’s voice on issues of the day are relevant, credible and influential by building trusted stakeholder relationships and an external reputation
- Delivering value to techUK member companies by leading and supporting techUK’s Leadership Committees, Working Groups and events
- Be responsible for maintaining and growing techUK’s membership base in AI
- Promote programme content through insights, opinions, social media, podcasts, campaign weeks, and PR activities
About you:
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- Knowledge of the current Digital Ethics and AI debate and discussion in the UK
- Experience of work in a public affairs, advocacy and policy driven environment
- Engagement with senior public policy and business leaders at board and CEO level
- Interest in current issues and trends in Digital Ethics, Data Ethics and AI
- Proven experience of taking a leadership role in event organisation

This is a full-time role based out of techUK’s London offices, however techUK operates a flexible working policy.
