We are a creative construction and manufacturing company and are responsible for delivering some of the most iconic projects in recent times. We are a multi-disciplined manufacturing facility spread over 14,000Sqm of estate with four manufacturing and storage facilities, engineering, fabrication, woodwork, finishing and a specialist manufacturing facility.
The Operations Department functions to support the overall running of all the departments, this includes: wrapping and packing, loading and unloading of trucks, internal site to site transport, plant maintenance, waste management, estate management.
The Role:
Production Operatives working within the Operations Department, provide support to all the production departments and workshops to ensure projects are prepared and loaded before leaving for show venues across the UK, Europe and Worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe loading and unloading of trucks
- Preparing built items and road boxes for site
- General support within the production departments may include, basic painting, sanding & filling and simple assembly work
- Moving manufactured scenic parts between production departments requiring the use of manual handling skills
- Using an iPad for loading and unloading items
- Completing housekeeping tasks and waste management duties within the workshop and external loading bays
- Completing daily maintenance checks
- Completing of electronic timesheets daily

Person specification:
Qualifications
- A general education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (including Maths and English), or an equivalent educational qualification, or relevant experience (Essential)
Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of loading and unloading vehicles (Essential)
- Knowledge of H&S and correct use of PPE (Essential)
- Understanding of health and safety issues in relation to manual handling and COSHH (Essential)
Skills, abilities and competencies
- Previous loading/unloading/crewing experience (Essential)
- Experience of working in a production operative, labourer or warehouse operative role (Essential)
- Experience of working independently and as part of a team (Essential)
- Experience of working to varying production deadlines & changing specifications (Essential)
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people (Essential)
- Ability to effectively organise and prioritise own work and follow procedures (Essential)
- Able to fill, sand and complete basic painting (Essential)
- FLT, Sideloader Licence (Desirable)
- Good computer skills and ability to use an IPAD (Desirable)

Additional information: 7.30am-4.00pm, with regular overtime, weekend work may be required
