Job Title: Production Manager

This is an ambitious UK-based company with subsidiary operations in the USA, France, Germany and China. They supply materials which are used for research, development and specialised manufacturing applications within areas such as Healthcare, Industry, Communications, Academia and Defence.
The Role:
To ensure the best possible quality and service is delivered to internal and external customers whilst also contributing to the wider business success and driving the company strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Management
- Ensure the effective running of Material Preparation, Laboratory, Rolling and Workshop to support the aims of the business in terms of quality, cost, speed, dependability and flexibility
- Minimise machine downtime through implementation of planned maintenance schedule and repair when required
- Management of the facilities including hygiene and maintenance
- Ensure the safety of all employees and safe operation of all equipment
People Management and Leadership
- Ensure the efficient running of the department by providing day to day management of all staff under the remit of this role
- First point of contact for all general employees’ HR concerns
- Management of workloads, work flow and staffing levels to ensure productivity
- Agreeing targets and objectives in alignment with organisational strategy and monitoring and managing staff performance against these regularly in both an informal and formal manner
- Fostering team spirit by encouraging, supporting, coaching and motivating all staff
- Recruitment, training and development of all employees directly under supervision
- regular communication to all staff through informal and formal channels such as team and one to one meetings
Continual Improvement
- Proactively look for process improvements with a methodical and consistent approach. Take responsibility and ownership in problem investigation and resolution.

- Proven manufacturing experience and technical/engineering skills
- A proven ability to Plan, coordinate, organise and lead teams
- Clear, open communication written and verbal
- Good leadership / management skills
- Strategy development and execution
- Ability to think strategically and operationally
- Ability to change leadership style according to situation
- Coaching and development skills
