We are a creative construction and manufacturing company and are responsible for delivering some of the most iconic projects in recent times. We are a multi-disciplined manufacturing facility spread over 14,000Sqm of estate with four manufacturing and storage facilities, engineering, fabrication, woodwork, finishing and a specialist manufacturing facility.
The Production Management Team oversee the manufacturing within the various Stage One Workshops including the Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Paint Departments, Machining and Operations; also working closely Drafting and Design, Project Management and Specialist Manufacturing.
The Role:
The Production Manager role holds responsibility for all aspects of production activity within the workshops at Stage One and is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently and that project requirements are met, specifically projects are delivered on time, in full, to the required quality whilst adhering to all H&S standards.
The Production Manager will work closely with all Production Departments including, Engineering Drafting and Design, Project Management, Specialist Manufacturing, Machining. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production teams, materials and production facilities to high efficiency levels within the framework of all Company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Resource
- Ownership of the production planning process for all departments within production so that they operate in alignment, ensuring plant, materials and personnel are in place and coordinate inter-departmental transport
- Responsible for material demand planning and stock control, chase any PO requests and ensure that adequate storage space if available to load it into the shop etc.
- Responsible for sub-contracting production work when required, identifying and maintaining contact with sub-contractors and organising and monitoring sub-contracted work
- Sourcing suppliers and products as the Production team needs
- Monitor and review team capability, ensuring all staff are clearly focused on their key objectives and developed to maximise their potential
- Clearly communicate and monitor team targets and KPI’s and the processes to be carried out to ensure these targets are achieved and remain in line with company policies and procedures
Drawings & Design
- Issue drawings to the workshops for specific projects
- To co-ordinate as necessary with the Design Team to ensure that key workshop personnel have the necessary input into design and specification
Quality
- Ensure that all company & statutory systems and procedures are followed
- Manage, control and mitigate any quality issues
- Understand the required level of quality to match client expectations and ensure that built items conform to this standard

Person specification:
Qualifications
A general education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above (including Maths and English), or an equivalent educational qualification, or relevant experience
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of materials / grades of steel
- Knowledge of H&S and correct use of PPE
- Knowledge of construction methods in a broad range of sector
- Working knowledge of wood / metal/ CNC machinery / equipment
Skills, experience, abilities and competencies
- Ability to lead a team, problem solve and deal with pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- IOSH Managing Safely Training
- At least 3 years’ experience in a multi-disciplined workshop environment
- Experience of supervising / managing production departments
- Experience of working to varying production deadlines and changing specifications
- Lean and process improvement experience

Additional information: 7.30am-4.00pm, with regular overtime, weekend work may be required
