Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Tarleton, PR4 6LJ

Salary: Starting from £45,000 per year

Job type: Permanent, Full-time.

About Bryan’s Salads:

Bryans Salads Ltd is a third-generation family business based in the rural moss lands in Tarleton, Lancashire.

We predominantly specialize in washed, ready to eat sliced lettuce and salad leaf, we also produce high quality ready to cook vegetable packs and salad bowls, with or without added protein and vegetables, for the catering and food service industry among others.

About the role:

The production Manager will oversee the day-to-day production of the Low Care department.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Managing production team/line leaders.
  • Ensure health and safety is at the forefront of all operations.
  • Responsible for department activity with respect to producing products.
  • Responsible for department execute the plan on a daily basis with stock available to fulfil all customer demand.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of the low care department and daily maintenance tasks
  • Manage and motivate the production staff ensuring that they are sufficiently skilled and capable to fulfil the requirements of their roles.
  • Conduct daily and weekly production meetings.
  • Ensure that all technical procedures and policies are robustly adhered to in production. Ensure team respond to technical (GMP) audits and liaise closely with the technical team on non-conformance.
  • Ensure team maintains high standards of safety within production and actively encourage a safe culture.
  • Ensure that all staff maintains high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, adapting a clean-as-you-go philosophy during and at the end of the shift.
  • Promote the culture of the company.
  • Analyse data.
  • Set goals and review outcomes.
  • To personally ensure that all aspects of Due Diligence (Food Safety, Quality and Legislation) are adhered to.
  • To personally take the appropriate and reasonable action in the event of witnessing a breach (or potential breach) of Food Safety, Quality or Legislation

Knowledge & Specific Job Skills:

Essential;

  • Knowledge within the fresh produce food industry
  • Level 2 food safety
  • Level 2 HACCP
  • Health & Safety
  • Competence in Microsoft
  • Good communicator
  • Self-motivator and have the determination and pride in ones work as well as carrying things through to the end.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent numeracy skills
