About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to become part of our Production Engineering team to provide technical solutions at all stages of the manufacturing process, including creating and maintaining build documentation and test specifications.
Using your engineering knowledge, you will support UK and sub-contracted manufacturing. There may also be opportunities to help develop manufacturing processes and procedures, including the design of tooling, test equipment and test software.
Key task will include:
- Create and maintain build documentation and test specifications for our manufacturing teams.
- BoM maintenance, concessions, permits & product changes via Change Request Process.
- Create & edit 2D & 3D drawings for manufacturing, sub-contract & tooling requirements.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures to help achieve the highest levels of quality and efficiency.
- Design and build tooling, jigs, equipment, and fixtures to support the production process.
- Provide rapid technical support to in-house production and subcontractors to minimise the impact of product non-conformance and ensure good workflow.
- To maintain confidentiality and professionalism in relationships with both other staff, Customers, and Suppliers at all times
- To work in a safe and efficient manner at all times, adhering to policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety
- When required, support other areas of the business when and where the need arises as directed by your manager.
About you:
This role would suite someone who has a keen interest in technology, with electronic engineering knowledge gained from either work experience or a relevant qualification.
What we are looking for:
- Degree / HND in Electronic Engineering desirable or similar qualification in a related field or 3 years’ experience as a Production / Manufacturing Engineer within as electronics field.
- Some experience providing production engineering support to Manufacturing departments & working with a variety of manufacturing processes and assembly techniques related to electrical and or/ mechanical engineering
- Knowledge of electronics at a component level, with the ability to read and understand electronic schematics, wiring schedules, mechanical part / assembly drawings.
- Some experience using CAD software for either 3D or 2D design.
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised, with good attention to detail.
- Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role
- Computer literate, with the ability to use all aspects of MS Office
- A friendly and professional attitude, with good communication skills.
- Some knowledge and/or experience of Lean / Six Sigma Manufacturing techniques would be beneficial
- Some knowledge of MRP / ERP systems desirable
- The role would suit someone who has a keen interest in technology and the enthusiasm to drive positive change.
Ideally you will have:
- Knowledge of electronics at a component level and be able to read a circuit diagram
- Experience using CAD software for either 3D or 2D design
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- The ability to work unsupervised, with good attention to detail
- Enthusiasm to undertake any training relevant to the role
- Computer literate, with the ability to use all aspects of MS Office
- A friendly and professional attitude
- Some knowledge and/or experience of Lean Manufacturing techniques would be beneficial
- Some experience in Electronic Manufacturing desirable
- Some knowledge of MRP / ERP systems desirable
Benefits:
In return we offer a salary up to £35,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. You will have a starting entitlement of 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing each year to a maximum of 28 days plus bank holidays as well as being able to take a one month paid sabbatical every six years.
