Job Title: Production Engineer

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm
Lascar Electronics has an exciting new opportunity for a Production Engineer to provide engineering support to the Lascar Production Team to maintain high-level quality product lines and promote LEAN improvements within Lascar Operations. We are a fast-growing international electronics business, with offices in the UK, USA and Hong Kong, specialising in the design and manufacture of data loggers, smart graphic displays and custom electronic products.
About the role:
Based at our Old Sarum office, this role will bridge the Engineering, Production and Quality teams by supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) reviews, product test development and fault finding. Driving product improvement across all areas within the Lascar Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining product quality by working with the production team to investigate and report product faults and working with the Hong Kong QA team to ensure product faults are recorded, investigated, reported to the supplier and a final fix applied
- Ensure the PPAP process is followed for any new product or product change
- Ensure drawings, build standards, documents, software and firmware are released before sending them to any external entity
- Control and management of the Concession Process
- Manage customer returns
- Investigate and fault-find faulty products, liaising with the customer, engineering and production to resolve the fault to a final conclusion
- Drive continued improvement across the business
About you:
You will have basic fault-finding skills and an understanding of electronics. You must able be able to read technical drawings and schematics. You must have great communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable dealing with a range of stakeholders both internal and external. Being able to write reports and use the full range of MS Office programmes is essential.
Benefits:
- Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on skills and experience.
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm and Friday 8.30am to 4pm
- Holidays: Starting entitlement of 22 days plus Bank Holidays increasing each year to a maximum of 28 days plus Bank Holidays.
- Sabbatical: One month paid sabbatical after 6 years.
