DB Cargo is on an ambitious journey to become Europe’s leading rail logistics provider with a long-term plan to shift traffic from roads, protect our climate and grow the economy.
We have an exciting opportunity for two Product Managers to join our Product Management team on a fixed term basis to cover periods of maternity leave, until the end of January 2023. These roles will be based at our Doncaster head office, with some flexibility to work a mixture both from the office and at home.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial support to the DB Cargo UK Industry Sectors in order to provide an efficient and customer centric process and approach to contract management.
- Undertake all supporting activities in line with the valid Sales Processes from the Customer enquiry to the Service Implementation.
- Responsible for managing all projects connected to international traffic and ensure timely execution of strategies and procedures.
- Sales support by cost calculation in order to support efficient and cost optimized rail production concepts for assigned clients. Interface regarding cost calculation between industry sectors and production.
- Coordination of all issues for the cost calculation.
- Preparation of all cost calculations for all inquiries and tenders.
- Preparation of all offers for the customer
- Lead on the tender process in cooperation with the Account Manager and all relevant Stakeholders and preparation of all tender document
- Develop pricing policy in line with company sales strategy and on the basis of market intelligence.
- Purchasing of additional services required to perform the services sold.
- Developing of new/additional services.
- Manage and administer contracts in the allocated markets and with the allocated customers
- Oversee and project manage all production aspects of international traffic from request to implementation
- Customer liaison for production topics for international traffics
- Lead on the Business Acceptance process
- Lead on the Service Implementation process for defined new flows
- Manage cross – functional projects of strategic importance for DB Cargo UK, coordinating inputs and outputs from across the business in order to deliver the desired objective. Manage marketing and associated communication activities.
- Positively support the company’s strategic objectives on safety, people and the environment.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have in depth knowledge of the rail industry in the UK, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will have project management experience and be educated to degree level or equivalent.
