S&B Herba Foods Ltd is a leading Rice and Pasta business in the UK (part of the Ebro Foods Group) serving the wholesale, retail and food manufacturing industries.
The Role:
We have an exciting new opening for a Procurement Manager to work out of our Fulbourn Mill who will be responsible for the day to day execution of the Purchasing of Raw Materials which include Rice, Functional Ingredients and Pulses. The successful candidate will be reporting into the General Manager. The role will involve the following responsibilities –
- Collate and analyse relevant fundamental rice market information and provide via weekly updates to the General Manager the data and sentiment required to enable an effective purchasing strategy for the business’ portfolio of products.
- Interpreting market information in order to determine market conditions.
- Purchasing Raw material and managing the associated contracts. This will also entail negotiating prices and shipping terms in line with forecasts and costings.
- Effectively manage and fully hedge foreign exchange in line with the Company’s protocols.
- Managing stockholding positions in line with the Company’s forecast requirements.
- Performing accurate and timely sales price costings in response to customer enquiries.
- Generate sales price lists for Commercial teams relative to market and currency fluctuations.
- Working closely with our sales team and helping us build our growing range of Functional Ingredients & Healthy Eating convenience products.
- Building relationships with key Ebro group and external trading partners.
- Ensure suppliers are aligned with group principles and approved by the quality department prior to purchase of raw materials.
- Approval of pre shipment samples where appropriate.
- Assisting with the development of the annual budget/profit plan by providing relevant and accurate information and pricing
About you:
- Knowledge of the Rice Market would be desirable but not imperative
- Raw material purchasing or other relevant trading experience is essential
- Good analytical skills and the ability to utilise these to make trading decisions
- Can demonstrate a strong level of commercial awareness
- Experience with Bulk shipping and container freight would be beneficial
- Ability to engage with others; have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understand the value of good team work to execute the fundamentals of the role
