Role Overview:
As global and fast expanding business, the Company is looking for Associates specialising in process safety to provide expert consultancy advice to blue chip clients on improving understanding and mitigating the risks of process safety hazards.
You will be working closely with the in-house specialist Consultancy team and testing laboratories to provide quality physico-chemical data on which to develop operational safety within plant. The Associates will be expected to undertake consulting work world-wide and deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions to technical safety challenges.
You will be expected to meet critical client deadlines and be capable, effective communicator. With 10+ years process safety experience, the applicants should have a good understanding of regulatory and legislation compliance for safety in the process industries and be aware of changes and updates emanating from national government and the EU.
Key Requirements:
- Experienced process safety expert ideally:
- Graduate in Chemical Engineering or Process Safety
- Experience in Process Safety Consultancy (desirable)
- Excellent communications skills
- Good IT proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Applicants must be self-employed
Essential Core Technical Skills:
- Developing a “Basis of Safety” for Unit Operations
- DSEAR/ ATEX Assessment
- HAZOP (Chair)/ QRA / LOPA / PHA / HAZID
- Fire Risk Assessment
- Process Safety Training
Desirable Specialist skills
- Electrostatic Hazards Assessment
- ISO 61508 / 11 Functional Safety (SIL, SIS)
- COMAH / Seveso III
- Dispersion Modelling (SAFETI / PHAST) knowledge and peer review experience
- Process Safety Management
