The Role:
The Housing Needs Team is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join the Housing Options Team, based at the Civic Centre, Harrogate.
Working under the general direction of the Senior Private Sector Officer, you will assist in developing a focused, comprehensive approach to working with the private rented sector.
You will aim to increase the options available to the council for reducing and preventing homelessness, by maximising the supply and use of private rented sector housing, including the administration of the council’s Homelessness Prevention Fund and Bond Guarantee Scheme.
You will be the single point of contact for landlords and tenants, ensuring that any issues arising are dealt with quickly and efficiently. There will be a close working relationship with the Housing Options Officers and Temporary Accommodation Officers to identify barriers that are preventing people from accessing the private rented sector.
You should have a full clean driving licence and use of a vehicle, for which an appropriate allowance is payable.
