Job Title: Principle Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Crewkerne, Somerset

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum + O/T

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

The Company is a medium sized manufacturer of small electric drive systems based in Crewkerne, Somerset.

A market driven supplier of miniature power transmission systems and controls dedicated to supporting a global network of customers that demand world class performance.

The Role:

They are looking for highly motivated, determined Mechanical Engineer who enjoys a challenge and is keen to get involved.

Preferably an ‘all-rounder’ with broad based engineering skills. You will be able to demonstrate an innovative flair to solve the design challenge in front of you.

Joining their engineering team you will undertake mechanical engineering projects; developing and designing transmission products for their catalogue and bespoke customer applications.

Key Requirements:

  • An MEng or similar qualified Mechanical engineer highly fluent in CAD (Solidworks) with strong FEA experience
  • Experienced (at least 5 years) in hands-on design and actualisation, ideally of transmission assemblies/gear designs
  • Capable of owning and delivering multiple projects from design concept to final delivery, interfacing with engineering, supply, manufacturing and test teams
  • Strong organisational skills to set and meet project timescales
