Job Title: Principal IT Internal Auditor
Location: East Suffolk Council, (Woodbridge, Lowestoft, and Ipswich)
Salary: £37,568 – £41,591 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

The Role:
We are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed Principal IT Internal Auditor to participate in the development of a forward thinking and professional Internal Audit service, working across a partnership environment between East Suffolk Council and Ipswich Borough Council.
The main purpose of your role will be to lead and manage the delivery of IT Audit which will include developing and agreeing an annual risk-based computer audit plan, your job role will include reviewing current arrangements for the provision of the ICT service.
We are looking for someone who can provide specialist technical advice, guidance and training on security risks, data retrieval and analyses, and provide first line computer support to the Internal Audi team.
This post is primarily based at the Melton office (Woodbridge), and will involve working across the audit partnerships at Ipswich Borough Council.
Post pandemic, the Council has adopted a hybrid way of working which allows for a mix of working from home and working in the office, either in Woodbridge, Lowestoft and Ipswich.
About you:
You will be educated to degree level and hold CISA or equivalent qualification, it is essential that you have knowledge of ICT management, security, networks and system design with the experience in using CAATS (Computer – Assisted Audit Techniques) for data analysis work. Working with minimal supervision and using your own initiative, you should also be able to communicate complex information effectively and have the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships, previous local government experience is desirable.
