Job Title: Plant and Machinery Manager

Salary: £45,000 per annum

About Us:

Countrystyle Recycling is an Innovative and flexible waste management and recycling service. There will also be works completed for Envar Composting is an organic waste and recycling operator.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Plant and Machinery manager to ensure plant and machinery for both Countrystyle and Envar are maintained and serviced to the highest standards complying with safety regulations. Utilising our current systems and introducing new technology to ensure we are operating efficiently.

You will work alongside the on-site maintenance teams and site managers across the facilities to ensure that systems and procedures are followed according to company guidelines.

A part of the role you will review costing of all fixed and mobile plant and monitor both downtime and replacement schedules making use of equipment across all the sites in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

The machinery includes but not limited to Loading Shovels, excavators, screeners, shredders, and Telehandlers.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, monitor the usage and effectiveness of safety equipment such as Zone Safe and Samsara.
  • Ensure efficient use and optimal performance of plant equipment
  • Monitor inventory for consumables where required, organise where possible effectiveness of group purchasing
  • Build relationships and negotiate competitive rates with key suppliers
  • Together with site managers monitor downtime and breakdowns across the fleet and report this to senior management in a systematic method using KPI’s on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor usage of equipment against service or R & M packages
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and provide regular updates on plant performance.
  • Monitor the performance of hire machinery against SLA’s agreed.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fully conversant with the use of MS Office, MS
  • Technical Report Writing
  • Mechanical knowledge of plant and machinery.
  • Experience of the heavy plant industry with extensive knowledge of Loading Shovels, excavators , screeners, shredders, and Telehandlers.
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and work with all levels within an organisation

Desirable:

  • Ability to quickly build relationships and work with all levels within an organisation
  • Individuals based in the Cambridge area will also be considered for the role given the dynamics of the job.
