Job Title: Planning Engineer
Location: Oldham, Manchester
Salary: £35 – £40k
Job Type: Full time, Permanent – 37.5 hours per week
Oldham Engineering Limited is a well-established medium sized engineering business with a long history and exciting plans for business growth.
Job Purpose: Produce detailed schedules for purchasing and detailed job planning for manufacturing departments in line with technical details and technical specifications supplied by the customer.
Key Accountabilities:
- Produce detailed schedules for purchasing and detailed job planning for manufacturing departments in line with technical details and technical specifications supplied by the customer.
- Able to read, understand technical drawings and understand technical requirements of the customer’s order to create detailed manufacturing plans.
- Produce detailed schedules for the purchasing department to procure both raw materials and sub contract services.
- Produce detailed job planning for the manufacturing process using the most efficient/cost effective process available.
- Produce detailed Autocad drawings, Sketches and plant drawings ready for manufacture when necessary.
Skills and experience required:
- Time served in Mechanical Engineering.
- Auto-cad Software Experience is essential.
- Previously worked in medium to heavy engineering
- Strong IT skills – Including Excel & Microsoft Project
