Job Title: PHP Developer
Location: Pencoed, Bridgend
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
Job type: Permanent, Full time
The Company, an owner managed group based in the Bridgend area, with offices in the USA and Thailand, are currently looking for a PHP Developer to fit into their strong team.
They need a motivated, confident, and hard working person, who will thrive in a varied and exciting role supporting and expanding a wide range of existing bespoke systems along with regular greenfield projects.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate must have the following skills:
- Proven experience with OO PHP (Symfony) & MySQL
- Demonstrable experience of HTML, CSS & JavaScript (including frameworks)
- Demonstrable experience of version control systems (Git/SVN)
- Willingness to learn new technologies
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Must have a “can do” attitude and a strong work ethic
- Strong problem solving & troubleshooting abilities
- Fast learner and a meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
The following experience would be highly advantageous:
- Knowledge of other programming languages (Go, C etc.)
- Experience with all of the major Symfony versions
- Distributed Message Queues (RabbitMQ, Gearman)
- Ability to write unit tests and understand continuous integration
- Experience with Facebook and Google advertising APIs
- A real enthusiasm and willingness to learn will also be a requirement for consideration for this position
