Alpha Living is an award-winning specialist older peoples housing provider based on the Wirral and operates across the Northwest and Yorkshire regions.
Role Purpose:
To provide support to the HR and Health & Safety Manager delivering generalist HR support for Alpha, a specialist provider of older persons’ housing. Overall, the post encompasses the full spectrum of HR duties including administrative tasks, employee relations, colleague wellbeing and support with the delivery of the People & Culture and Equality Diversity Inclusion & Belonging Strategies.
The job description is likely to develop in-line with changes to the organisation and the skills and experience of the postholder, however a non-exhaustive description of the key responsibilities of the role is below.
Activities and Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for any employee relations issues.
- Support managers to deal with issues effectively using company policies and procedures
- Support the HR and Health & Safety Manager with the operational management of the payroll process, providing accurate and timely information to our payroll provider
- Supporting the HR and Health and Safety Manager with overseeing the maintenance and effective use of the HR database system; ensuring the integrity of staffing data so it accurately reflects the workforce; and training records as appropriate.
- Support with end-to-end recruitment at all levels using Safer recruitment principles.
- The postholder will deal with first line enquiries for all HR issues raised by colleagues and managers including induction, probation and performance and development review processes.
- Work with the HR and Health & Safety Manager to update HR policies as required in line with legislative and organisational changes, and communicate policy changes, including training managers and staff in the operation of policies and procedures.
- Organising and monitoring of training programmes for colleagues, keeping records up to date and ensuring compliance in particular to health and safety obligations set out on the organisations Health & Safety policy and recommended improvements from GAP analysis undertaken by WorkNest
- Ensuring that all HR files and documents are reviewed, maintained and kept up to date.
- Support the HR and Health & Safety Manager with the delivery of the People & Culture and EDI&B Strategy.

No role profile can cover every issue which may arise within the post at various times. The postholder is expected to carry out other duties from time to time, which are broadly consistent with those described above.
