Salary: Salary: £13,503 pa to £13,829 pa (FTE £20,205 pa to £22,742 pa)
Job type: Part Time (3 days per week), Permanent.
Coventry College was formed in August 2017 as the sole General Further Education provider in the city, delivering vocational, technical and professional education and training to learners of all ages, from Entry Level to Higher Education.
The role
Coventry College strives to ensure a welcoming, efficient and safe environment for all learners, staff and visitors across the campus. To support in achieving this, the College is looking to add a member of the Human resources team to manage all salary and pension information and provide this to the College’s external payroll and pensions provider.
Main Responsibilities include
- Support the HR team in maintaining the integrity of the computerised HR and payroll system, ensuring that all payment information is accurate and supported by the appropriate authorised documentation.
- Liaise with managers, employees and external organisations to resolve payroll, pension and associated queries.
- Provide advice on Tax, NI, SMP, pension and other payroll associated matters.
- Support the HR team with the processing of variations to the payroll, including new starters, leavers, adjustments, overtime, benefits, deductions from pay etc.
- Checking of travel and expense claims.
- Undertake day to day payroll and pension administration, including payroll preparation, input and advice, ensuring all data input into the system is accurate.
- Administer Statutory Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Pay.
- Check absence records for entitlement to Occupational Sick Pay.
Ideal Candidate
- Payroll qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Experience of maintaining a range of administrative systems
- Knowledge of and understanding of PAYE, payroll and pension processes
- Ability to contribute to the development and improvement of HR/payroll systems/processes
