Job Title: Payroll Administrator (25 Hours Per Week / 18 months FTC)

Salary: Up to £28,350 per annum (pro-rata)

As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our team and support our Payroll (iTrent) and HR Oracle systems.
This is initially 18 months post, working for 25 hours per week. The purpose of the Payroll Administrator is to ensure routine work is processed efficiently for the wider SYNLAB UK’s businesses. This position is critical in maintaining high standards of payroll management during a period of transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support for the HR teams
- Ensure smooth monthly payroll operations by liaising with HR Advisors and payroll systems
- Administer pensions for existing members and scheme leavers in accordance with NHS and company Pension Scheme regulations
- Address pay queries, including sick pay entitlement, unpaid leave, and casuals
- Identify and rectify causes of inaccurate pay, working with HR Advisors and line managers
- Act as the first point of contact for under and overpayment queries
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop effective payroll reports
About you:
Essential Requirements:
- GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) with excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Proven IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to provide accurate payroll and HR advice
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive and adaptable to changing demands
- Good knowledge of HR processes and Pension schemes
- Excellent numerical ability and communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience in a diverse, multi-site organisation
- Previous payroll department experience or working with outsourced payroll providers
- Skills in root cause analysis and problem resolution
