Job Title: Partnership Development Officer
Location: Telford, TF3
Salary: £33,782 – £36,922 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Policy & Development at Telford & Wrekin Council has a new, exciting and ambitious agenda to deliver for the whole Council. We are driving forward partnership working, evidence-based decision making and organisational development.
We have invested in 2 new Partnership Development Officer posts within the Partnership Team to drive effective partnership working with a focus on the Telford and Wrekin Safeguarding Partnership and the Community Safety Partnership.
We are looking for people who want to make a difference to the lives of people in Telford and Wrekin by working with partners to keep our most vulnerable residents safe and build strong communities.
Key duties:
- Lead and co-ordinating the development of the Council’s statutory partnerships in line with best practice and statutory guidance.
- This will include, not exclusively:
- Partnership strategic planning to identify priorities and their delivery through integrated evidence-based business planning, performance management, quality assurance and risk management
- Liaising with identified professional leads to develop partnership priorities
- Lead and deliver the work of partnership sub-groups
- Support effective communication and engagement with partners and the public through management of the TWSP, CSP and TWC websites, Sharepoint and MS Teams and conference / engagement events
- Publication of the Annual Reports and the development of Partnership strategies and policies and procedures
- Lead and deliver the development of processes and actions that challenge current levels and forms of service delivery to deliver improvement against partnership priorities.
- Member induction and development
- Support the co-ordination of the Partnership contribution of inspection, peer and sector-led activity including statutory partnership quality assurance processes
- Lead the development with Organisational Development Team of effective multi-agency learning & development programmes for the Safeguarding Partnership
- Lead and coordinate learning reviews including, domestic homicide reviews, Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and safeguarding adults review processes
- Manage effective reporting to the CSP of the Police and Crime Commissioner Grant Fund allocated to the Community Safety Partnership in line with CSP priorities
- Lead effective engagement with relevant regional Safeguarding and partnership forums to share best practice, develop regional procedures and joint procurement of support where appropriate.
- Ensure the Voice of the Child /Person is integral to the work of the Partnerships.
About you:
You will need to understand the statutory basis for partnership work in safeguarding and community safety, experience of working with partner organisations on complex issues to develop strategies, policies, procedures and have excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
You’ll also need to be educated to degree level, have a equivalent professional qualification or substantial demonstrable relevant professional experience.
One of the posts is a full-time permanent contract and the other is a full time 2 year contract, which we will consider as a 2 year fixed term contract or secondment. If you are applying as a secondment please discuss this with your line manger before applying.
