Salary: £20,000 – £22,000 per annum

Purpose of the Role:
Due to an expanding team we are looking for an Operations Assistant. As part of the team you will:
Operations Tasks
- Supervision of onsite waste transfer station including overseeing waste received, directing clients, weighbridge operation, planning daily tonnage allowance, and processing transfer station consignment notes/orders
- Raising purchase orders for the Operations Department
- Checking fuel levels in on-site tank, re-ordering and uploading fuel delivery data to the system
- Working alongside the Operations Manager to ensure site checks are carried out and recorded.
Customer Service
- Place customer orders on the system and address any customer queries
- Assist with the resolution of invoice queries
- Twice daily check ins with service providers to ensure that orders will be fulfilled
Transport Tasks
- Production of and checking driver paperwork
- Liaising with landfill sites to book loads in
- Update the defect board when defects occur and collate and file defect and service reports
- Responsibility for obtaining Accident/Incident Reports
Skills and Experience required:
- Previous experience of working in a transport, warehouse or operations department would be preferred
- PC literate with a working knowledge of Outlook, Word and PowerPoint and Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to use their own initiative
- Confident and professional
- Flexible and adaptable with the willingness to take on different responsibilities
- Good time management
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable & trustworthy – a ‘can do’ attitude
