Role Overview:
- To support the Lead Engineer in all technical matters associated with the planning and construction of the allocated multi-disciplinary sites
- To co-ordinate all Civils aspects of construction and associated works with the other disciplines
- To deliver construction work safely to the level of quality expected by the company and the Client on time
- To budget and in line with all relevant standards, processes and procedures
Responsibilities:
- Work as directed by the Delivery Manager and Lead Engineer
- Ensure proposed construction plans are safe, cost effective and achievable
- Assist the Technical and Lead Engineers in improving productivity and introducing innovation
- Carry out risk assessments as part of design and construction work designs or estimates, undertake detailed planning, site visits and progress work as directed
- Assist Construction Manager and Lead Engineer to produce planning documents, multi-discipline Work Package Plans and Task Briefs
- Discuss all construction and constructability issues with the construction team
- Ensure development of Junior Engineers/apprentices
- Refer any Design issues to the Lead Engineer (CRE) and CEM
- Refer non-compliances to the standards and all technical issues to the Lead Engineer (CRE) and CEM
- Ensure timely production and communication of reports, including the submission of technical documents for the Health and Safety file
- Attend planning, progress and technical meetings as directed
- Attend engineering and technical briefing as directed
- Ensure all foreseeable risks are identified and suitably mitigated
- Ensure construction work is delivered to the required quality and on-site quality checks are carried out
- Ensure site reporting is completed satisfactorily

Specific Skills/Expertise
- Education to HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable experience
- Safety Management Training
- COSHH
- Driving Licence PTS (Rail)
- COSS (Rail) – Desirable
