Job Title: Nursery Practitioner Level 3
Location: Chingford
Salary: £23,920 – £26,000 per year
Job type: Permanent, Full time 40 hours.
We are currently recruiting for a passionate Nursery Practitioner with a Level 3 Childcare qualification to join our growing Bright Star Day Nursery and Preschool team. Our nursery is situated in Walthamstow/Chingford, London with 45 places and set in a beautiful purpose-built building with 2 spacious garden areas.
Purpose of the Role:
The role works in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to manage the execution of service delivery in line with regulatory, customer, client and employee expectations, and to develop staff teams that achieve consistent high-quality performance within the nursery. The expectation is this will be delivered by being present throughout the day.
Essential Experience:
- Level 3 or HNC in Childhood Practice or equivalent.
- Work experience within the Early Years Sector.
- Experience as a Key Person.
- Knowledge of the early year’s curriculum and regulatory requirement.
- Proven ability to work as part of team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
- Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding children.
- Specific experience of working within the 0-5 year’s age group in accordance with the regulatory requirements if required.
- Desire and passion for ongoing learning and personal development.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
- Observe, support and extend children’s learning.
- Plan appropriately for children using the curriculum of excellence/ pre-birth to three.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
- Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
- Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
- Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Safeguarding Procedures.
- Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Work as a team with other staff members.
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK.
- Working within policies, procedures, and regulatory requirement.
- 12 hours paediatric first aid (Can be completed within the company).
- Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management (Can be completed within the company).
- Understanding of safeguarding/child protection training (Can be completed within the company).
Personal Attributes:
- Able to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques (oral and in writing).
- Ability to support and inspire children in achieving the highest standards of care and education.
- Able to manage workload and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge and experience using basic IT systems.
- Passionate in working within the childcare sector.
