Job Title: Night Shift Team Lead – Enzyme Manufacturing Plant
Location: Nantgarw, Cardiff
Salary: Competitive salary + 30% night shift allowance + bonus + substantial benefits
Position: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 18:00 – 6:00 (4 x 12 hour night shifts, During training period – hours will be 4 x 12 hr day shift – 4 on / 4 off rolling week)

About the role:
Due to our on-going commitment to expanding our manufacturing capabilities within our fermentation plant, we have an opportunity for a Night Shift Team Lead Process who will supervise operational and manufacturing activities within our enzyme manufacturing plant.
Key Duties:
- Preparing and running of fermentation processes up to 8,000L scale defined by SOPs and production records
- Monitoring of 500L fermentations, including methanol additions defined by SOPs and production records
- Operation of some 500L processes defined by SOPs and production records
- Trouble shooting and solving manufacturing process problems
- Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance on plant equipment to minimise unplanned downtime
- Supervise a team of Technicians safely and effectively, in line with process and schedule requirements
- Working with your team on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Be conversant with and adopt the procedures stated in the Quality, Environmental Management System (QEMS) Manual and its supporting documents
- Carry out the responsibilities stated in the Managing Director’s Health & Safety Policy
About you:
5 GCSEs A-C grade including English and Maths or equivalent or NVQ (L3) in Process Operations or Cert. in Process Technology (L3) is essential along with experience in safely operating and maintaining equipment such as fermenters, centrifuges, tanks, pumps and filters.

- Operate effectively, efficiently, and safely all plant/equipment needed in production of speciality enzyme
- Supervision of Process Technicians in line with plant and scheduling requirements
- Food Safety, HACCP and GMP
- FLT operator
- Training in the awareness and relevance of their individual activities in contributing to food safety, emphasising the importance of effective communication
