Job Title: Multi-skilled Tradesperson

Basic Salary: £19,276 to £25,233 per annum (depending on experience).

The Role
The purpose of the role is to work with the Building Projects Manager, maintenance colleagues and other members of the College community to carry out works within the departments remit to keep all systems operating smoothly. You will be assisting to provide safe and suitable working conditions within the College campus for all staff, students and visitors.
Responsibilities include
- To assist with the day-to-day operation of the College boilers.
- Be able to carry out minor electrical works or repairs.
- Undertake general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, decorating, tiling, furniture repairs, groundworks, small carpentry works, cleaning of gutters and gullies around site, dry lining repairs, masonry repairs and general labouring.
- To be able to work on their own and with other members of the department where required.
- Ensure workshop and stores are kept in a clean and safe condition. To ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely stored when not in use.
- To ensure that all tasks are carried out so as to minimise any risk to staff and students and with minimum disruption to the normal running of the College.
- To conduct yourself professionally and politely with staff/students at all times.
Ideal candidate
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent including 5 GCSE at C grade or above to include English and maths.
- Experience of working in the maintenance/construction industry.
- Experience with Painting & decorating as well as general construction knowledge (carpentry, masonry etc)
- Must be able to work safely.
- Ability to resolve problems and find best solutions.
- Ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
