Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £32,000 per annum + 25 days holiday
Job type: Permanent, Full time
Hours: Shifts 06.00-14.00 & 14.00-22.00 rotating & alternative week call out cover
They’re a Thermoplastic compounding business based in the North of Manchester who are currently looking to hire a talented and experienced Multi-skilled, Electrical and Mechanical Engineer (Double day shifts and call out rota).
The Role:
The job includes planned maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown repairs alongside Installation of and modification to, plant and services. You’ll be involved in liaising with different departments as required, while complying with and assisting in the creation of high standards and procedures.
The Candidate:
You will need to be self-motivated, keen to accept different tasks, and have a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will also need to able to work alone and as part of a team, with expertise in a batch manufacturing environment, where compounding experience would be an advantage.
Key Attributes:
- A “Can Do”, flexible attitude
- Self-managing – must be able to work under supervision or as part of a team
- Sound communication skills, especially when under pressure
- Working expertise of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance
- Recognised engineering qualifications and relevant experience
- Knowledge of 18th Edition IET regs preferable
- Previous maintenance experience, minimum 5 years
- Experience of working with motors, hydraulics, pumps and pneumatics
- Electrical/electronic/hydraulic/pneumatic fault finding and analytical skills
- Be able to interpret schematic drawings to assist with fault finding
- Able to help plan and undertake PPM’s
- A pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Ability to keep methodical records
- Awareness of Health & Safety, for themselves and others
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
- Apprenticeship served
- Production Engineering
