Job Title: Mental Health and Wellbeing Advisor

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £12,109- £12,842 per annum (Pro rata of £33,966 – £36,024) – SS5

Job type: Permanent, 15 Hours per week, 40 Weeks per year.

The Role:

University College Birmingham are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to provide effective support, information and guidance to applicants and students with mental health difficulties, developing strategies for successful learning. This position is part of the wider Student Services and Wellbeing team, providing support for student welfare, engagement, health and wellbeing, promoting an exemplary student experience.

The successful candidate will act as the point of contact for prospective and current learners with mental health needs; supporting these individuals through the full student cycle and liaising with relevant internal and external teams to ensure a coordinated approach. You will also take an active role in the delivery of staff training and student events in order to raise awareness of the service and wellbeing issues across the organisation.

Applications must be supported by a professional qualification in a relevant discipline, suitable experience in a statutory, voluntary or educational setting, in addition to evidence of recent and relevant continuous professional development.

In order to meet the needs of the service, flexibility in relation to working hours is essential.
